The International 0-6 Education Seminar focuses on the key aspects of education during the first six years of the child´s life. It is primarily addressed to parents, teachers, psychologists, educators and professionals working in the education field. The event will feature the participation of leading experts in the area of education and neuroscience, who will analyze the fundamentals of human development from birth to six years of age. In conjunction with the lectures, several capsules of experience have been scheduled in order to demonstrate the application of neuroscience inputs into real learning environments.

Keynote Speakers:

Dr. Jordi Sasot Llevadot
Medical doctor specialized in Psychiatry and Paediatrics by the Autonomous University of Barcelona (Teaching Unit Vall d’Hebrón) since 1983. Master degree in Psychiatry and Child/Juvenile Psychology by the Department of Pharmacology and Psychiatry of the Autonomous University of Barcelona. Member of the Faculty at the Teknon Medical Center where he heads the Paidopsychiatry Unit (Child/Juvenile Psychiatry and Psychology). Member of the Spanish Association for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, member of the European Society for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (ESCAP) and member of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP). He is also member of the Catalan Society of Paediatrics and of the Spanish Association of Paediatrics, as well as of the Advisory Council of the Mental Health and Addictions’ Master Plan of the Health Department of the Government of Catalonia. In addition, he combines his consultation with the post of professor of Graduate Child and Adolescent Psychiatry of the Autonomous University of Barcelona.

Silvia Dubovoy
PhD in Psychology by the University of Barcelona. AMI trainer for 0-6 Montessori Guides. Director of the training courses of the Master’s Degree in Montessori Pedagogy offered by the Universistat de Vic, Barcelona, and of the training courses offered by the Montessori Institute of San Diego. Academic and researcher of the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI), holds the 0-3, 3-6 and Special Education AMI Diplomas. She was a member of the AMI Pedagogical Committee, in the association's headquarters in Amsterdam from 1982 to 2010. Currently, she works for the AMI Research Committee and represents this entity before the United Nations. She is also an active member of the AMI-USA Consultation Committee.

Judith Orion
Judith A. Orion, M.A., Director of Training, holds the AMI Early Childhood (3-6) Diploma and received her Assistants to Infancy (0-3) Diploma at the first AMI training for that level, given in Rome. She has conducted Primary and Infancy Montessori classes, and it’s a trainer, examiner and consultant at both levels. She conducts teacher training internationally and is an adjunct faculty member of Loyola College in Maryland. She was also Director of Training for the first 0-6 AMI Diploma course. She works at AMI as the Chair of the Training Group, the AMI committee that oversees the training of new AMI trainers and also serves on the Scientific Pedagogy Group.
